This can result in controlling, aggressive or passive aggressive habits, affecting everyone else around them.
It is important to learn to turn down the intensity of emotional reactions, instead of letting feelings and impulses dominate, as in the childhood tantrum. This takes practice, and below are some tips that may help:
1. Focus on potential solutions, rather than problems
2. Listen well to the other person & think before you speak- maybe use the drive thru method mentioned in a previous post (listen, repeat and ask if there is anything else).
3. Take some time out if you feel you really can not control yourself.
4. Exercise regularly to reduce stress.
5. Seek help if you feel your emotions are out of control.
