Ideal Team Player

Patrick Lencioni wrote a great book called 'The Ideal Team Player'.

If you haven't read it, go find it and read it. It is an excellent book on team work and the skills needed to be a great team player.

Lencioni says that we often are low or lacking in one of these skills and this can have a big impact on the team dynamics.

- Humble people accept apologies with grace, share credit for team accomplishments, easily admit to mistakes and genuinely praise others, speaking of their accomplishments.

- Hungry people are hard workers, thinking of ways to improve things, seeing jobs that need doing then do them before being asked. They are willing to take on difficult or tedious jobs as needed.

- Smart people are good at listening and people want to talk to them. They are self-aware and know how their words and deeds are received. They also are other aware- knowing how to adjust to other personalities and cultures and can adjust accordingly.

Which are you stronger or weaker in? How can you invest in becoming stronger in an area?
